David Shepherd's ambition when he was a child was
to become a Game Warden and although he did not get past the starting
post with the Head Warden at the Kenya National Park, he was afforded
an opportunity to see African wildlife in its natural habitat
and his lifelong passion for conservation began.
Through the insight and patience of his mentor,
Robin Goodwin, David became one of the most popular and successful
painters of our time. He enjoyed his first success when he was
a guest of the RAF in Aden in 1960 and painted Slave Island and
within two years, he hosted his first one-man exhibition of wildife
paintings in London.
David is both an Artist and a Conservationist and
has become a giant amongst men, with wildlife artists the world
over looking to his work for inspiration
